Pneumatic Filler

This pneumatic filling pen was made from an older rod of green and black ripple hard rubber.

This material has a beautiful color and contrast... I only wish I had more of it. I only had enough for about three or four pens.

The filler consists of a brass tube that slides along the inside of the barrel over the sac. The tube is connected to the blind cap, which is unscrewed to extend the tube. When pushing the tube back in, the hole in the blind cap is covered with a finger, causing the air inside the tube to be compressed, which in turn compresses the sac.

The nib is one I've used on a number of pens... a Waterman's Emblem size 18. It's a large nib that provides a prominent look while being moderately priced.
